The project consists in designing and developing interactive multi-sensory applications for people for improving their wellbeing at work. Specifically, the proposed solution should use smells, in association with user’s activities, to improve user’s well-being, mood and level of attention and, consequently, their performances at work.

Bloom Device
Bloom is a smart air freshener system, composed by a remote olfactory device and a desktop software. The software works in background and it tracks the user's behaviour in front of his/her computer at work, using face recognition.
Based on SOP for desktop computer work and time management techniques, Bloom analyses every 30 minutes the user facial expression to detect the worker emotions and diffuse a certain fragrance to boost his/her productivity, to improve his/her concentration and to relieve his/her stress and anxiety.
Closely related to the office context, Bloom diffuses rosemary fragrance, considered a stimulating odor; lavender fragrance, considered a relaxing odor; and peppermint fragrance, considered an alertness increaser.
